New Year, New Project

New Year’s resolutions.

I’ve never had much use for them. I guess, maybe when I was much younger, I probably made some. Most likely I was trying to jump start some area of my life or to break some old habit. As an adult, or at least a mature person, I just don’t make them. I really have a difficult time even formulating a resolution that is focused and sustainable. Vaguely stating my desire to get to the gym or to write more or to eat better is simply too easy to put aside and eventually forget, usually before my birthday in February.

This year that changed, sort of. I gave myself a project. A project based on photography.

I will shoot, develop and scan at least one roll of film per week for the 52 weeks in 2016. I plan on posting the results on both Tumblr and this blog. So there will be a bit of accountability involved. The goal is not to just power through, but to work on improving both my photography and my writing skills. I thought thatI might limit myself to “one camera, one film”, but I’m going to leave that part open.

Ready. Set. Go.
