Becki has a ceramic gnome that she has owned since long before I met her. Over the years it has become a sort of talisman for her. She swears it brings her luck. In all of the places we have lived, for any length of time, there is a prominent place for the gnome, usually facing out into the main living area.
He is now living on top of a walnut liquor cabinet that I built, looking over the living room, slightly facing a side window. The morning sun through the window blinds, lights the gnome and creates beautiful shadows on the cabinet and wall behind. I have tried many times to capture what I see, with limited success.
