Living and working around Los Angeles you get used to the density, the chaos. The pace of the city is only equaled by a few places around the country. Traffic and air pollution consistently rank among the worst in the United States. Home prices are absurd and gasoline is at least $1 more per gallon than neighboring states. I know I’m not doing much to sell my hometown, but that’s OK, I’ll let the annual Rose Parade take care of the Southern California marketing (I can’t remember a time when the New Years Day parade did not have picture perfect weather).
We have an easy escape from all of that though since it is only a short ten minutes from my front door to the strand, where I can walk or run or bike, stopping at my favorite place for a meal or cocktail, breathing the fresh ocean air and enjoying the scenery along the way. Here are a few photos that I made during our walk this morning.
I’ve lived in and visited many other places around the country and the world, but this will always be my home.
