Mike called the other day and told me he was going to take Friday off, so we made plans to go hiking at Lynn Canyon. It was cold and rainy so there were few other people around. Just the way I like it. Quiet and peaceful, just my brother and I. We hiked around for a couple of hours. I took a number of photos, but that was secondary. I was happy simply enjoying my surroundings and Mike’s good company. Since he moved up here we have spent too little time together, so I was happy just to walk and talk and enjoy.
After hiking we made our way to Honey’s donuts in Deep Cove to warm up and get a snack and some coffee.
It was a good day.
These photos were made with my Pentax 6X7 loaded with Portra 400 pushed two stops. I love the look of these images, they remind me of shooting slide film. For this hike I packed a tripod and it’s a good thing. I love that big beast of a camera, but it’s a bear to hand hold at slow shutter speeds.
