Becki is away working in the cold, snowy city of Winnipeg, Canada. This limits my evening entertainment options somewhat. I don’t mind dining solo, sometimes I prefer it, but I also love a good conversation. Fortunately, I have long time friends that tolerate me even when I am not accompanied by my much more pleasant wife. But sometime, when I wasn’t paying attention, most of them turned into old people. Things, like leaving early to avoid the crowds and staying local because of traffic, are now overriding concerns in planning an evenings entertainment. This includes my younger brother and his still younger wife who I met for an early dinner. I found myself finished with my sushi and saying goodbye all before 9 pm.
Taking my boxer girl outside when I got home I noticed the nearly full moon lighting up the backyard. Wide awake and with a slight Sapporo buzz, I decided to grab my Pentax 67 that still had four exposures left on a roll of Tri-X and take some photos.
The first six exposures on the roll were shot at EI 200, so with that limitation, I just guessed at the exposure and left it all to film latitude and dumb luck. I do know that the longer exposure was shot at f/11 and the shorter at f/4. The film was developed in Rodinal at a dilution of 1+50 for 9:00.
With the shutter on Bulb, I also ran around under the tree with a big mag light shining up at the trunk and fronds. Why not?
