Wasting Film – Bronica S2A and TMax 400

We had a brief respite from the cloud cover and drizzle a couple of days ago. I’ve quickly learned in my short time in the Pacific Northwest not to squander any opportunity to get outdoors when the sun comes out because there will be weeks where it does not make an appearance.

The Elliott Bay trail is a few minute walk from our place and is open enough that we can stay a safe distance from runners, bikers, and other walkers. It also happens to be a beautiful walk with nice views of the bay and the islands in the distance.

I loaded one film back with Tmax 400 and the other with Tri-X 400, put a yellow filter on the front of my lens, and went out for a walk.

My first impression of TMax, years ago, was not too favorable. I found the film almost too smooth with not enough grain and texture. None of that has changed, but I’m coming around to the look of the film.

I’ll try to post some of the images from the roll of Tri-X soon.

These six images are from the roll of Tmax, exposed at EI 250, and then developed in XTOL (1+1).
